The Gujarat Sales Tax Bar Association is an association of Advocates, Tax Practitioners, C.A. and Consultants in Gujarat. The associations established in the year 1954 and have more than 2150 direct members and 21 Institutional Members total comprising around 5000 Members from all over the State of Gujarat and India. The main object of our Association is dissemination of professional education among the fraternity of professional and to update Knowledge and give guidance and information to tax payers. It has always been endeavor of association to ensure that its members keep pace with fast changing times in terms of knowledge and competency and speared latest information and updating to tax payers by organizing various kind of awareness programs.

The Sales Tax Journal
STJ is a publication started in the year 1960 with a track record of over 56years and is considered as an outstanding publication by tax professionals and tax payers, vat department, State Govt. And Trade and Industries. The Journal includes analytical articles and updates on the subject such as VAT, CST, Entry tax, Service Tax, Excise etc. Sales Tax Journal is subscribed by more than 1000 subscribers. Sales Tax Journal Won the ICE Award 2016 “Certificate of Participation”.
GSTBA Conducts various educational activities such as Seminars, Workshops, Residential Refresher Courses, Refresher Course Meetings, Gyanodaya PathShala, Lecture Meetings on various subject of direct and indirect taxes, public awareness program. Grievance Cell Meetings are also conducted every year with Higher Officers of the VAT Department.
GSTBA publishes books on Tribunal Judgements, Determinations etc. VAT Hand Book is also published.
GSTBA makes representations to various Central and State Govt. Authorities, GST/ VAT Departments on GST /VAT / CST Laws as well as on procedural & administrative issues. The representations include pre budget memorandum to the Central /State Govt.
The website of the GSTBA gives the latest news, circulars, notifications and other information and details relevant for professionals to update them with day-to-day changes.
GSTBA organizes Cricket Matches, Chess and Carom Tournament for the members of the associations.
Members benevolent scheme was started in the year 1990 and Currently More than 1270 members.
